Writer's Block: Mirror, mirror

If you broke a mirror, would you worry about bad luck even if you're not superstitious? Would you walk under a ladder or cross a black cat's path on a dare? Is there anything you're superstitious about?
I am not superstitious. At all. If you break a mirror, oh shame. That's a waste of a good mirror. Black cats? Are adorable. They can walk in front of me, behind me, over me. Whatevs. Step on a crack, break your mother's back? I'm worried about my dad's back right now. It's my mom's feet you have to worry about. Ladders? Please. Ask me about Prom 09 and I can tell you about ladders. And bleachers. And helium.

Writer's Block: LiveJournal Book Club

Out of all of your favorite books, pick just one you'd recommend everyone read. As a bonus: why did you pick that one?
Oh my Lord, only one??? Is that possible??? I'm too much of a series reader to be able to pick just one! But let me think. Um. Hm. Erm. Let's see. How about we go with Artemis Fowl 6? That was The Time Paradox. It is definitely my favorite book in the series and is deffs one of my favorite books ever. You should read the whole series just to get to that one. It's worth it.

Writer's Block: The Kids' Section

What was your favorite movie when you were a kid? Is it still your favorite now that you're older?
Are you kidding? I still watch all of those movies! Oh, no, wait, my bad. Those are those kids' movies that I watch even now, when I'm sixteen. Like "Ferngully". That movie is love. Batty is my hero. Ahem. Anyway, I guess that there will always be a little part of my heart that will love stuff like "Thomas and the Magic Railroad". But I have a major case of adolescent amnesia going on here, and I can't think of any that were really quote unquote "favorites". I cried during a Mary-Kate and Ashley movie. But that doesn't count. Does it?

Writer's Block: Almost Famous

What celebrity do you think looks like you? What celebrity do other people say you look like?
Holy flip, I wish I had the nerve to put pictures of myself online, because this resemblance is uncanny. I swear, if I had better skin, no glasses, a personal hairdresser, and an English upbringing, Anna Popplewell from the Chronicles of Narnia and I would be practically twins. Everybody says so.
Well, except for this lady at church who thinks I look like Chelsea Clinton. That was random to the extreme.

Writer's Block: Comped

What's the best compliment you've ever received?
Oh, this one's easy. My writing club advisor once posted on a chapter of one of my stories and told me that he thought that my writing had really matured since he had met me. He just slayed me. I love you, G-Unit!

Writer's Block: Desert Island Time

You're packing your bag for that magical desert island that happens to have electricity, a TV, and a DVD player—what five DVDs do you take with you?
AH HA I love these questions! BTW, these are in no particular order. I'm just throwing out my favorites.

1. My Birds of Prey Complete Series (would die without that, I'm pretty sure)
2. X2: X-Men United (I must have my James!)
3. Casino Royale
4. Numb3rs The Complete Third Season (or should it be second? GAHHH)
5. Jumper

I Want to See Who's in Charge!

Ah. My first official LiveJournal rant. Of course, by the time I am done with it, it will probably get plastered all over the information super highway, but oh well. I need to rant. Really really bad.

You all might have noticed the change in my title, icon, etc. It's official: I am a Birds of Prey fanatic. I got the series on Netflix because I read about in my superhero encyclopedia and why wouldn't a fangirl want to get involved with a show that lets girls kick butt with minimal help from men??? That was oddly feministic, but don't slow me down. Anyway, as I kept watching, it kept getting better and better. I fell in love with Oracle, and I really wanted this:

to work out.
BUT THEN THEY KILLED HIM!!!!!!! And I thought Barbara's debacle with Lady Shiva was angsty! I didn't know what was coming!
Ahem. Anyway.
I just watched the series finale, which rocked and made me cry at the same time, which is something remarkable. Now I have to wait until I save enough money to own the entire series before I can get an Oracle high any time that I want.
Hence my need to rant about why the WB is an idiot and why the CW needs to rethink its priorities. Seriously! You guys hardly gave the show a chance!!!! My encyclopedia kept comparing it to Dark Angel, and while they do have a shocking number of similiarities, that is no reason to cut the better one short. That's right; I said it. Birds of Prey, in my opinion, deserved the shot at two seasons, not DA. Barbara is a ton smarter than Logan was and she's more of a comfort than he ever was. The Clocktower is more awesome than the Space Needle, and meta-humans would kick transgenic BUTT! They weren't even the same thing! It would be better to compare Birds of Prey to X-Men, but of course, that would be too easy. Oh yeah, and the whole Smallville thing? Yeah, you guys can probably guess which one I think deserved the longer run. Grrrr......
Sigh. Now that that is over, I can contain myself with fan fiction and my Script Frenzy project, which is an entirely new pilot for the show, only with my original character instead of Huntress and Dinah. Although I love them to death. I will always love my telekinetic and my therapy basket case. Oh yeah, and my wheels.
Rest in Peace, Wade Brixton!

Writer's Block: Honey Bear

Happy birthday, A. A. Milne! Not coincidentally, it's also Winnie the Pooh Day. Which resident of Pooh Corner do you identify with the most?
Piglet!!!! We are both terribly timid but try to be brave for our friends, although I think everybody is Tigger at some point in their lives. Two words: SUGAR RUSH.

New Crush Alert!

Well, okay, he's not a completely new crush. It's kind of off and on, but now that I am using him for an RP play by, it's addictive.

Oh, Michael. You ham you. I have to tell you, I was a sucker for him when he was in a wheelchair for the first part of the first season of Dark Angel. Don't ask me why; something about it made him very attractive.

Writer's Block: Back to School

What fictional high school—from tv, film, or a book—would you most like to attend? Or would you rather never go near high school again, fictional or otherwise?
Well, I'm in high school right now. Personally, I would love to go to Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters from the X-Men franchise. I am such a total nerd, but it's the truth XD James Marsden is my personal brand of heroin.

EDIT: Okay, it may be totally freaky and I would probably be one of the first to die, but I would actually like to go to Baker High School/Rogers High School from Hangman's Curse by Frank Peretti (it depends on whether you are reading the book or watching the movie). Seriously, who wouldn't want to go to school with Leighton Meester? And David Keith! Sounds like fun to me.
